What to Expect

  • What's a service like?
    • We follow the LCMS Service Book.  Most services last no more than 1 hour, including about a 20-minute sermon (on average) and includes 2 to 3 hymns.
  • What's the music like?
    • We have a state-of-the-art digital music system.  The sound is inspiring and makes our worship service very enjoyable.
  • How do people dress?
    • Come as you are.  There is no need to be worried about your clothes.  We are happy you are in attendance with us, no matter how you are dressed.  We have air conditioning to keep you comfortable in the summer months.
  • What about my kids?
    • Kids are always welcome.
  • Can I take communion?
    • St. John Lutheran Church practices Closed Communion.  If you are not a member of a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod we kindly ask you to refrain from communing.  We do so not to make you feel unwelcome or inferior, but because the Scriptures clearly teach that those communing together be unified in their confession of the Faith.  In this Sacrament, we are not only joined to Christ our Head who is present in His body and blood, but are also knit together with one another as His Body, in which Body there should be no division of belief.  Should you have questions or concerns about this Biblical and historic practice, please speak to our pastor.  If you are a member of a sister LC-MS congregation, please announce your intention to commune to our pastor before the service.
  •  Where do I park?
    • We have ample parking in our lot between the Church and Parsonage.
